Who doesn't love a good hidden gem bar? The Jack Saloon, located outside of Lolo, may not be so hidden to Western Montanans, but it isn't advertised to outsiders. It's one of my favorite bars in the area, in fact. The setting, with its open grass and creek backdrop, is beautiful. Plus, a stage for live music, yard games, and a pool table.

Oh, and the swinging barstool built out of a tree trunk. The Jack Saloon has so much character, and now it's under new ownership.

"We are your new owners, Kyle and Stefanie! We are from a small town In Northeast Washington and both grew up spending a lot of time around Montana. We knew we wanted to end up here but figured it wouldn’t be until retirement. When the opportunity of The Jack presented itself it seemed too good to be true!" - The Jack Saloon via Facebook

Welcome to Montana, Kyle and Stefanie. We hope Montana treats you well, and we hope the Jack Saloon thrives under you.

The Jack is officially reopened as of November 7. The new owners took a week off to transition to the new ownership and held their grand reopening on Friday night. Surprisingly, the Facebook comments were mostly positive. Facebook can be a real cesspool of negativity, so it was refreshing to see Montanans support the new owners.
