Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On June 10, 2023, Missoula Police Department officers were called to a welfare check near the YWCA Thrift Shop. Officers spoke with a female who had called 911 to report that a female was slumped over in a vehicle. The complainant remained on scene because she said there was a “creepy” male hanging out in the area.

An officer made contact with the female who was later identified by her driver’s license as 36-year-old Lacey Frost. The officer saw Frost slumped over in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition. The officer knocked on the window and awoke Frost.

Frost woke up startled and when asked if she was ok, she said she was, but said she was probably doing something she was not supposed to be doing. According to court documents, Frost went on to say that she had been mowing part of the yard, but probably needed law enforcement’s permission.

It was clear to the officer that Frost was not mowing, and she asked Frost to exit the vehicle. It was at this time that the officer received Frost’s name and found she was on probation. Frost stated she did not use drugs and had not consumed alcohol. However, the officer observed Frost to have bloodshot eyes, which Frost stated was a result of crying.

The officer made contact with the on-call probation officer, who requested a search of the vehicle. Frost stated the vehicle did not belong to her and that she got the vehicle from her friend that morning. Officers began searching the car and found a purple zipper bag in the driver’s side door cubby, which contained a piece of tinfoil, tooter straws, and a small bag of a white crystalline substance. The white crystalline substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, the officer found a pipe in the center console with residue present, which appeared to be consistent with a pipe used to ingest methamphetamine.

The officer read Frost her Miranda rights and she agreed to speak. Frost stated she paid $2,500 for the car but did not have a bill of sale. The officer later discovered that the plate attached to the vehicle was fictitious and belonged to a different vehicle.

During questioning, Frost admitted to using cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol and admitted methamphetamine may also appear in a urine sample. Frost was transported to the jail, where staff informed and provided the officer with a piece of tinfoil they found on Frost’s person.

Frost is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, felony probation violation, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. On June 12, 2023, Frost made her initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court and her bond was set at $20,000.
