Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On October 17, 2023, at approximately 11:26 p.m., Missoula Police Department officers responded to the Stone of Accord to remove two males who refused to leave the premises. One of the males refused to identify himself after repeated requests and warnings. After continually refusing to answer, the male was placed under arrest for obstructing.

He had a backpack on him, and it was secured and taken to the Police Station for a routine inventory search pursuant to police policy. During the inventory search, officers located a financial card listing the name Todd Spence and a container with two small baggies of suspected methamphetamine. At this time, the inventory search stopped.

A TruNarc test determined that the substance was methamphetamine. At the jail, detention staff identified that male as 49-year-old Todd Spence which was confirmed through past booking photos. Spence is currently in custody and this case was filed directly to District Court. Bail was requested to be set at $10,000.

According to court documents, Spence has two prior felony convictions including incest with a history of revocations, and a felony theft along with a partner family member assault conviction and numerous other misdemeanors.

Spence has a currently pending charge of threats or improper influence in official matters, two pending trespass charges in Missoula County Justice Court, two charges for disorderly conduct, two charges for obstructing, and intoxicated pedestrian pending in Missoula Municipal Court.

Spence’s newest charges are felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and obstructing a peace officer.
