Missoula Crime Report: Guilty Verdict on All Counts
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 13 new criminal complaints this week, which is the same as last week and less than the weekly average. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, the number of cases may have been down, but her office still had a “really busy” week.
“We had a trial going on that concluded yesterday,” Pabst said. “The charges allege that the defendant was engaged in a polysubstance illegal drug operation that involved meth, heroin, and fentanyl. The jury was out yesterday afternoon and came back with a guilty verdict on all counts.”
Pabst said sentencing will be set in about eight weeks from now. Of the 13 cases this week, Pabst said seven of them involved violent crimes or crimes against persons.
“In one, there was an aggravated assault in which the defendant allegedly punched another driver causing serious bodily injury,” Pabst said. “The victim had to be hospitalized and is dealing with some protracted injuries.”
In addition, Pabst said her office charged one individual with possession of child sexual materials that involved images of children engaged in sexual conduct.
“In the endangerment column, we had three new felony DUIs as well as a child criminal endangerment,” said Pabst. “In that case, the allegation is that a parent allowed a very small child contact with a known sexual offender. In the property column, we charged an aggravated burglary.”
