Glacier Park Home Battle Heads To The Courts…Again

The Amblers File Appeal: Montana Has No Authority To Stop Us

Imagine my surprise when I see Montana's favorite California couple, John and Stacy Ambler, have filed an appeal with the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on July 28, 2025.  I'm surprised it took this long. You can take a look at the appeal here

John and Stacy Ambler want the court to side with them saying they can build their vacation home on a stream bed in Glacier National Park. They argue their home isn't breaking Montana's stream bed laws because Montana doesn't have a say in the whole thing.

The Amblers argue that when Montana gave Glacier Park to America that it lost it's right to have a say on how the land is used or developed.

The Amblers are also going after the Flathead Conservation Group and The Friends of Montana Streams and Rivers. They want the courts to get them off their backs.

What are you doing? I mean really.

I have to tell you, Montanans remember. You are asserting yourselves in a way that even if you get your way, YOU WILL BE OUTCASTS FOR A LIFETIME. Then your family will be outcasts and so on.

Your family legacy will be "The Family that destroyed a section of McDonald Creek" just so you could brag to your California friends " We have a vacation home in Glacier National Park. Those backwoods hicks tried to fight us, but our money won."

And your lawyer, Trent Baker Datspoulos, Macdonald & Lind, Missoula. ... ew. Just thinking that a guy in Montana is so desperate for cash he'd give a hand to out-of-staters who think they can treat our home like a playground, makes me puke in my mouth a little.

You'd truly be better off tearing that monstrosity down and taking it as a loss. I'm sure Mr. Baker knows some great tax attorneys.
