Investigation into Fatal Corvallis Fire Continues
The law officials have still not released the identities of the three people killed in an apartment house fire a week ago in Corvallis. Dying in the alleged arson blaze were a 27 year old female, a 32 year old male and a 53 year old male. Another female was seriously injured as she jumped from a second-story window.
Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton, in a July 13 news release, said samples from the fire "confirmed the use of accelerants to start and fuel the fire." The department is investigating a prior arson attempt at the same apartment on July 2, the week before the fatal fire. There may even be a connection to a suspicious fire during the same time period north of Hamilton on the valley's west side. Officers are looking for a vehicle, which was seen in a video. Anyone with information or observations is asked to contact Lt. Jake Auch at (406) 363-3033 or use the "contact" or "Tip" buttons on the Sheriff's Office app on cell phones. Anonymous tips can also be sent through Five Valleys Crimestoppers at (406) 721-4444.
