I Love My New Big Kid Toy!

I moved into a new place in the middle of winter last year. One of the responsibilities is having to clear the sidewalks after it snows. So every time the white stuff fell I was outside shoveling away.

With the winter weather hitting us again I was already dreading having to get back outside every time we had a snow day.

But I was at the store a few weeks ago, looked over, and there it was in all its glory. An electric snow shovel. I had to have it! I was thinking about how I would make easy work of the sidewalk every time it snowed. No doubt, I would be the envy of the block as it would take me a fraction of time to finish what would take so much longer for the rest of my shoveling neighbors.

I made the purchase and waited for the snow to fall. But then I saw the letter posted in the neighborhood - the one that said the home owner's association was paying for the sidewalks and street to be plowed this year! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

So I was robbed of a little bit of my glory. But over the weekend I found a patch of snow that the plow didn't take care of and gave the electric shovel a test.......and it's pretty awesome! It took me about 2 minutes to do what would probably have taken 10.

It's not as bulky as a snow blower, it's fun to use, and it speeds up the shoveling process. I definitely give it a thumbs up!
