Huge High School Speech Meet at Corvallis, Adult Judges Needed
Over 500 students from Class AA, A, B and C high schools will be competing at a Corvallis High School speech meet this weekend, January 4 and 5. Doug McConnaha needs volunteer judges from the community. There will be three debate events, six drama events and ten speech events, he said. A judge training session is January 2 at 7 p.m. at the Corvallis High School (classroom 20) but even if you can't make that session, the instructions are not all that difficult. You can judge for as many hours as you wish, though he needs to cover three sessions on Friday - 4:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. and four sessions on Saturday - 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
If you need more information, call the high school at 961-3201. Corvallis High School is at the north end of Main Street in Corvallis. Please volunteer as soon as possible, so Doug can fill out the schedule. You can register online at a speech meet website.
