Hot Rods and an Air Show at Hamilton Airport This Weekend
The "Wings and Wheels" weekend at the Ravalli County Airport is presenting plenty of Wings with three different air show routines and an abundance of Wheels with the BitterRodders Car Club.
The cars start out the weekend with a Friday Night Cruise June 23, 5 p.m. and ending at the Hamilton airport. The Cool Classic Cars and Hot Rods will be on display all day Saturday just west of the airport tarmac.
Saturday, the "fly-in" breakfast is open to the public with a lot of food for a small price. On the airport parking areas, airplanes will on "static" display so you can look inside the aircraft and talk with the pilots.
A skydiver will bring in the American flag at 9 a.m., followed by an accuracy "flour bomb" contest at 10 a.m. The kids are invited to get prizes from a ping pong ball drop at 10:30 a.m.
The Air Show starts at 11 a.m. and includes:
- The Legacy Flight Museum Airshow with Bob Hoover's famous "Ole Yeller" P-51D Mustang, flown by John Bagley and a North American T-6 trainer from WWII.
- Danny Sorenson's Golden Age Airshow with a Sorenson BF9-2 one-off custom biplane, named "Unfinished Business."
- Brad Wursten's Power Addiction Airshow with an MXS-R high performance aircraft.
A 2 p.m. the Car Show awards will be presented.
