It ended up being a bit of a misadventure. The original plan was for us to road trip it over to Silverwood with our kids, stay in a hotel for a couple of nights with grandparents, and spend a day at Silverwood's waterpark. The next thing you know - wires got crossed and reservations were made at a totally different place than we intended to stay. But we stumbled into an even better weekend at Silver Mountain Resort in Kellog, ID - featuring "Idaho's Largest Indoor Waterpark Resort."

What was originally going to be a day at the water park - ended up being three days of fun since Silver Rapids Waterpark is included with your stay at Silver Mountain Resort. We spent about three hours each day at the waterpark on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We have kids that are six and three.....and it was the perfect amount of entertainment for them (and the big kids.) There was something for everyone.....water slides, lazy river, hot tubs, tube rides, a family raft ride, food, a bar that overlooks everything, and more.

I had no idea that there was this great indoor water park just two hours from Missoula. The place was clean and it didn't feel crowded any of the days we were there - even though it was over the weekend. Admission is included with your stay at Silver Mountain Resort....but you can also purchase individual tickets if you just want to go for the day.

There's also a bunch of fun waiting for you at the mountain. There's skiing in the winter, mountain biking looks to be a big attraction in the summer, and you can take the gondola to the top and have lunch (with some pretty huge portions.) **And on a side note.....how is the word gondola used to describe both a type of boat and the cabin part of the ski lift? Those two things are nothing alike!**
