You might have September 5th circled on the calendar - that's when the Griz will open their season against Central Washington.

But your first chance to get a look at the 2020 version of your University of Montana football team will be with the annual Spring Game. It'll be held in Hamilton this year and take place on April 10th.

Usually the Griz play the game in Missoula during even-numbered years but the Grizzly Scholarship Association announced the scrimmage would take place in the Bitterroot Valley and shine the spotlight on the new Hamilton High School Athletic Complex.

It'll mark the first time the spring contest has been held in Hamilton - and it'll be closer than the game that was held in Kalispell last year.

The Grizzly Scholarship Association helps to provide scholarships to students and proceeds from the game support their efforts.

It should be a great day of spring football. The new facility in Hamilton features 1,600 seats, a new artificial turf surface and more.

I'm not much for placing wagers on football games - but I'm gonna take the Griz in this one!
