Here’s a Creative Montana-Style Valentine’s Date

This is a date that I was taken on a few years ago for Valentine's day and I have never forgot it. It reminds me of this area and something someone from here would do.

I had a boyfriend that picked me up on Valentine's and told me I was in for a surprise and to dress warm. We drove a ways out of town and he had a playlist of songs he put on. We were driving and I was wondering what was up. Then Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's 'Fishin' in the Dark' came on and we pulled off and parked.

What was going on? I was curious and as I got out of the truck and we started walking I saw some light ahead and realized we were on a frozen slough and the lights were surrounding an ice-hut and they were in the shape of a heart.

We were going night Ice fishing on Valentines day! He had it all set up inside and some wine and chocolates. All the bait and the poles too.

That is a perfect Montana date for V-day.
