Have you ever wondered, what would happen if you or someone in your outdoor adventure group needed medical attention?

With hunting seasons starting up, there are even more Montanans in our great outdoors, many of them in remote wilderness areas. Our friends at the Masonic Lodge in Hamilton are hosting a free two-hour first aid and trauma survival course this Saturday, September 23, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Hunters and others who spend time in the outdoors are all invited to attend. The course will be taught by Lt. Colonel Samuel Urso, Montana National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve combat trauma physician.

You will learn to self treat and survive injuries from minor bumps and scrapes to stab wounds and gun shots.

Learn how to source and pack medical supplies efficiently and about medical and survival supplies that every outdoors person should carry and how to use them.

Learn how to stabilize and extract critically injured victims.

Remember, the course is free. The Masonic Lodge is at 115 South Third Street in Hamilton. Not necessary to RSVP, just come as you are. And if you need more information, call 406-210-8099. Sounds like two hours well spent, folks...an ounce of prevention and all that!
