An unidentified woman received non-life threatening injuries Sunday morning on the 3000 block of South Russell when a speeding vehicle jumped the curb, Struck her, and trapped her under the vehicle while she was in the sidewalk.

Sergeant James Caton with the Missoula Police department described what happened.

"At about 11 a.m. there was a vehicle headed south at a high rate of speed on Russell Street and it collided with a vehicle headed north," Caton said. "The southbound vehicle continued on and collided with a female pedestrian who was on the east sidewalk on Russell Street. The female pedestrian was trapped under his vehicle."

Caton said the female pedestrian required hospitalization for her injuries.

"She was transported to St. Patrick Hospital where she received treatment for non life-threatening injuries," he said.
