Daly Days Packed ’em In at Hamilton
We're always surprised at the huge crowd that surrounds the haybale racetrack for the annual Daly Days Wiener Dog races in Hamilton. It was easily the biggest gathering of the day on Main Street for the Saturday July 28 event. The winner this year was Tony Salecki's Ena. The day was interrupted for a short time by an isolated thunderstorm that dropped enough rain in about 15 minutes to cause streams of water into the storm sewers. But after the rain, the people came back onto the street.
The weather stayed hot and dry for the rest of the day, which led to record crowds at the nearby Bitterroot Brewfest. The band "Top House" performed in the midst of the smiling fest participants and later in the afternoon, "Swatkins and the Positive Agenda" took to the Brewfest stage to get the dancing started. Throughout the weekend, music was a main ingredient in the Bitterroot Valley events.
Jacque Teague was the winner of the hotly-contested Daly Days Adult Musical Chairs competition (see photo below). Her final challenge was against Sean Van Horssen and she won a free recliner, courtesy of Bitterroot Furniture. Thanks, Mark!
