Get Your ‘Happy’ On For Hamilton’s Daly Days
Two days of great fun is upon us! Daly Days and the Bitterroot Brew Fest own this weekend in Hamilton. Daly Days is "first off the starting line" Friday with street and sidewalk sales throughout town and on Hamilton's Main Street. The Bitterroot Bouncers will have two bounce houses for the kids and a climbing wall.
Friday night, the popular local band "Who Dat!" will take to the stage at 4th and Main for the Street Dance. They have their own style that keeps your feet busy dancing and your face smiling. There will be beverages for sale, too. Following the show, what is a "must see" night-time experience, the Fire Twirlers will be lighting up the pavement at the corner of Third and Main. Flaming batons and even flaming hula hoops will amaze.
Then, a full Saturday starts with the annual Bitterroot Kiwanis pancake breakfast serving up great food at 7 a.m. under the Bell McCall canopy at 3rd and Main. And you can get up late and still have breakfast, because they keep the griddles hot until 11 a.m. Of course, you'll want to take in the Farmers Market surrounding the Ravalli County Museum Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Hamilton's Main Street will blocked all way the from 4th Street to US 93. That first block of main will be filled with shiny cars. The Bitterrodders Car Show will have some beauties shined up and showing on that 100 block of Main. The second block will have many new vendors and the local sidewalk sales continuing from Friday, along with food and drink.
The stage at 4th and Main has a full morning, presenting a Salute to the Colors at 9 a.m., followed by Zumba with the Groovz Dance Studio at 9:15 a.m., the "Adult Musical Chairs" competition at 11 a.m. with grand prize a beautiful recliner from Bitterroot Furniture (Thanks Mark!). That's followed by the ultra-popular "Daly Days Wiener Dog Race" at 12 Noon. After that excitement, we'll get the adults back onto the race course with a truly "Mini-triathlon" with mini-bikes, mini-skateboards and a few water pistols.
Main Street winds down after that and the Bitterroot Brew Fest starts up at the Daly Mansion grounds. The Daly Mansion Preservation Trust has a full Saturday morning, too, with historical Daly re-enactors, carriage rides and ragtime music. I'll have more details about all that fun in our second on-line installment tomorrow right here on this KLYQ website! We'll also be talking about all this on Friday's Event Show at 8 a.m. on 1240 AM KLYQ radio and klyq.com.
