Brad Paisley Hosting Benefit Show for California First Responders
Brad Paisley is giving back to those who have so selflessly worked to help others impacted who were impacted by recent natural disasters in California.
The country star has organized the "2nd Responders" benefit show to recognize first responders who were on the front lines battling the wildfires and mudslides that ranged through southern California in 2017.
Paisley's good friend Ellen DeGeneres is scheduled to participate, along with some of the singer's other friends when the show takes place on May 12 at the historic Santa Barbara Bowl. The proceeds from the event will go to local organizations, who will then distribute the funds to community members who helped combat the devastating natural disasters in the Montecito and Santa Barbara region.
Brad Paisley Gets Serious About Vets
“Kim and I fell in love with Santa Barbara and the Montecito area on our honeymoon. It feels like small town America by the sea,” Paisley says of his connection to the area. "With this concert I hope to raise awareness, spirits and money for the region that’s recovering from the devastating mudslides and fires. I hope people come out and actually make it an experience with us and visit some of the local shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops."
Tickets for local residents go on sale Friday (March 23) at 12PM local time.
Paisley's resume of charitable work is a long one — a recent example is his acceptance of the Randy Owen Angels Among Us award from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for his longstanding support of the institution's tireless efforts in ending childhood cancer. The country star extended his Weekend Warrior Tour into 2018, and it will wrap on April 26, just days before his 2nd responders benefit show in Santa Barbara.
