NBC Montana confirmed Friday that the superintendent of the Bonner School District, east of Missoula, has been placed on leave after he was charged with partner family member assault.

The misdemeanor charge was filed against Doug Ardiana on March 31.

School officials say the board met Monday and placed Ardiana on paid administrative leave.

Principal Ashley Parks told us her staff and faculty are professional, and they remain focused on the education and safety of their students.

The school board meets again on Tuesday.
