Nine months after breaking ground, we can see the progress being made to the new Bitterroot Health site in Stevensville. The site now features the framework of the new health center which will undoubtedly save Missoula and Ravalli County citizens valuable time in emergency situations without having to drive to the currently existing hospitals in Hamilton and Missoula, 40 miles apart.

The new health center was designed by Neenan Archistructure of Fort Collins, CO, the brains behind many modern education and health centers in several western states. Their resume of completed works from Texas to Oregon is impressive, as can be seen on the firm's healthcare page. Neenan also provided this 3D rendering of what the Stevensville hospital will look like:

In addition to specialty services for women's health and lab testing, what will serve us best in the new Stevensville location will be emergency services. As stated above, the closest hospital with a 24-hr emergency room is 26 minutes away, at Bitterroot Health's Hamilton location. Outside of that, it's a 40 minute drive from Stevensville to Providence St Patrick in Missoula.

In the event of an emergency, my actual travel time would be much less. But you do you.
