It takes lots people to keep our local non-profit organizations going. And in recent years, the "Missoula gives" website fund drive has been a nice boost for many groups, including those in the Bitterroot Valley.

"Bitterroot Gives" has increased in size and in results each year as the on-line donation drive has made it easy to drop a few (or a lot) of dollars into your favorite organization's cashbox. The 26-hour fund-a-thon starts at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 6, and wraps up at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 7th. The on-line giving happens at www.missoulagives.org by selecting the Bitterroot Community tab, or just go to www.bitterrootgives.org.

Russ Lawrence, who belongs to more than one of the listed groups noted that some of the organizations have matching grants during the time perioid, meaning that for every dollar you give, they get another dollar from a generous contributor. There are also some "in-person" get-togethers where you can donate face-to-face. Bitter Root Water Forum has always had a pretty good time in past years.

On the 2021 list for Bitterroot Gives are: Bitter Root Land Trust, Bitter Root Water Forum, Bitterroot Celtic Society, Bitterroot Cross-Country Ski Club, Bitterroot School of Music, Daly Mansion Preservation Trust, Emma's House, Hamilton Players Community Theater, Heartism Community Center, Linda Massa Youth Home, Montana Guardian Fund, Ravalli County Council on Aging, SAFE (Supporters of Abuse Free Environments), Ravalli County 4-H Council, Ravalli County Museum Historical Society and Jean Matthews Tuesday at 12 concert series. There might even be a couple more by the time May 6th arrives. Help 'em out!
