I’m not a huge fan of maternity pictures. I find it very uncomfortable when I go to someone’s house and there are mostly naked pictures of the woman plastered all over the walls to for everyone to see. I think it’s a bit bizarre that someone would want intimate pictures with everyone who knocks at their door.

I also don’t understand why someone would want to have these scantily clad pictures taken when they are swollen. When I was pregnant I looked like I had an allergic reaction to a bee sting and everything from my face to my ankles were twice the size they normally were. The last thing I wanted to do was immortalize the way I looked then and I certainly didn’t feel attractive. I felt like an angry hippo.

Obviously not all women feel the same way that I did, because maternity pictures seem to be a popular trend. I can’t skim through Pinterest without seeing multiple pins on different maternity poses. It made me think that I was the only pregnant lady in America who didn’t like maternity pictures. However, I recently ran across an article that proved me wrong.

It seems a very smart and lovely young mother-to-be was recently given the gift of having a photographer come to take maternity pictures of her. Unlike many women, she declined the offer, but surprisingly her husband didn’t. The father-to-be stepped in and took the mother’s place and posed in, what in my opinion are, the best maternity pictures ever. Click on the link below to check them out.
