Anybody in Montana Find a Fish This Weird?

A hideous sea creature rising from the deep, murky depths! Run for your lives, people!

Oh, yeah, way way way too over-dramatic there. But the goofy looking thing is an oddity, considering its normal habitat.

Associated Press reports that folks walking the shore in Virginia Beach, Virginia, came across a bizarre-looking northern stargazer fish. The fish is speckled with a flat body and big head. The really weird thing about it is that northern stargazers normally live at the bottom of deep, open waters, not near shorelines. They like to bury their bodies in the sand with just the eyes and mouth sticking out, ready to ambush their prey.

Authorities say they are not a real threat to humans, but they do have electric spines. I bet that would make you wonder what was in that can of beer you just drank on the beach!
