“Montana agriculture drives our economy, supports jobs and communities, and sustains our way of life.”

GOVERNOR PROCLAIMS THIS AS MONTANA FFA WEEK

These opening words were part of Governor Greg Gianforte's proclamation of this week being FFA Week in Montana. The governor met this week with Montana FFA state officers at the state capitol in Helena.

The Northern Ag Network tells us that during their visit, state officers shared updates on FFA membership growth, upcoming events, and the ways local chapters are preparing students for careers in agriculture, business, science, and skilled trades. The governor thanked the officers for their leadership and their commitment to serving their schools and communities:

“Montana agriculture drives our economy, supports jobs and communities, and sustains our way of life. Through FFA, young Montanans are building leadership skills and gaining real-world experience to strengthen our number one industry and keep it strong for generations to come.”

February 21 to 28 is Montana FFA Week to highlight the important role agricultural education plays in preparing students for leadership, personal growth, and career success. Across Montana, FFA members participate in classroom instruction, supervised agricultural experiences, and leadership development activities that equip them with practical skills and hands on experience.

THANKFUL FOR THE PROCLAMATION

In the press release, Cole Waldusky, state first vice president of the Montana FFA Association, was quoted as saying, “FFA has given students across Montana opportunities to grow as leaders, serve our communities, and prepare for careers that make a difference. We’re grateful for the governor’s support and for the recognition of the hard work FFA members put in every day in classrooms, shops, barns, and communities across our state.”

If you know any kids in any Montana FFA chapters, be sure to give them some extra props and congratulate them on their achievements during their special week of recognition.
