I received a press release from Vice President of Marketing and Promotions at Logjam Presents Ryan Torres this morning about a Kettlehouse Amphitheater announcement. We receive pressers all the time, so it's not out of the ordinary... BUT this one means a little extra to me as it's one of my favorite country performers in the last decade.

This is huge news for Simpson fans. The artist behind the incredible albums Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, Sound & Fury and Cuttin' Grass hasn't gone on tour since 2021. He's had a few festival appearances scattered over the years, but nothing consistent. 2016 was the last time Simpson released an album (The Ballad of Dood & Juanita) and the last time he appeared in Montana.

Simpson will be at KettleHouse on Sunday, September 22 as a part of his Why Not Tour 2024.

But there's a twist...

According to an article from Rolling Stone, Simpson won't be making his new album under the name "Sturgill Simpson." Instead, he'll be under the moniker "Johnny Blue Skies" for his new album Passage Du Desir.

It doesn't matter to me where he calls himself Sturgill, Johnny, Clarence or anything else. What matters is Simpson is back in Montana. The presale starts next Thursday, June 13th from 10 am to 10 pm at logjampresents.com.
