A Safety Email and Purell to Keep Coronavirus Away
The big thing on everyone's mind right now seems to be the coronavirus. I've been paying pretty close attention to it since I'm from Seattle and my family lives in Washington, close to where a lot of the cases have been confirmed and people have died.
My sister works for a Kaiser Permanente, a company that is conducting coronavirus vaccine trials. And, my mom was planning a trip to visit us here in May, but because of a susceptible immune system, her doctor just advised her to not travel unless it's by vehicle.
Around our building here, we were sent an email with safety tips and they've installed multiple Purell stations.
I'm sure you've seen all the suggested ways to keep yourself safe. If not, here's the content that was shared around our offices.
- During the flu season wipe all common, high traffic area surfaces multiple times a day using disposable paper towels with multipurpose disinfectant. You may want to use disinfectant wipes in office and cubicle areas too.
- Place hand sanitizer near your entry and use it periodically, especially if shaking hands with visitors.
- "Flush" out the building by bringing in fresh air if you are able to do so. Briefly open the doors and/or windows to remove stale air and bring fresh air into the building.
