A Carousel for Missoula Holds Virtual 25th Anniversary on Friday

Well, it's a bummer of a year to hold a 25th anniversary celebration - but I think we've all learned that we have to make the best we can out of any situation in 2020. A Carousel for Missoula will hold an event on Friday to honor their 25th year of providing fun for the community. And you probably guessed it.......it'll be a virtual celebration.

They're calling it "A Silver Celebration" and you can follow the Facebook LIVE feed on Friday beginning at 6:30 PM. Oh, and J.K. Simmons will be giving a toast as part of the event. If you don't recognize the name you might recognize the face from more than 50 movies and hit TV shows. Still drawing a blank? You'll probably say "oh.....that guy!" when I refer to him as the guy from the Farmer's Insurance commercials. You know what I'm talking about, the "we know a thing or two, because we've seen a thing or two" guy! Ah yes, and he's a former Missoula resident.

The auction that will be featured during the event will raise funds for the Carousel and help offset the loss of almost $20,000 from other events that were cancelled this year. Visit the Carousel's Facebook page to check out some of the great auction items that include autographed Griz memorabilia, wine tasting, and more. The evening will also include a 45-minute history of the Carousel and Dragon Hollow. That alone might be worth tuning in for!

It's hard to believe carousel rides have been on hiatus since March. Hopefully the Carousel can raise a bunch of money and get ready for the day when the they can fire up the ponies to bring joy to the faces of riders again.
