A Bat, Handgun, and Knife Were Used During Assaults This Week in Missoula
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 17 new felony criminal complaints this week. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, four of those cases fell into the non-family violence category.
“Three of those were assault with a weapon cases,” Pabst said. “In one, the weapon was a bat, in another a knife, and in the last one it was a handgun. Then we charged another individual with intimidation. In that case, he allegedly threatened the manager of a local hotel with a pistol.”
Pabst said five cases involved some form of felony endangerment.
“There was a multivehicle crash that was fueled by drugs and alcohol,” Pabst said. “There was another case that involved felony DUI, failure to carry insurance, and resisting arrest. In the next, the individual was charged with seven different crimes. That case involved a high-speed chase through town in a stolen vehicle. There was also another pursuit. The defendant was charged for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It was his eighth offense.”
There were five additional new crimes in the property crimes category.
“The first was an arson case that occurred in a residential area,” Pabst said. “The second was a trespass plus criminal mischief. There were two burglary charges. One involved breaking into an ex-girlfriend’s home and taking some items. Finally, an individual was charged with felony theft, deceptive practices, and forgery for purchasing many items with a stolen credit card.”
Pabst said they also charged two new felony drug cases and both involved methamphetamine.
