The United Veterans Council has helped to arrange 11 different ceremonies to honor fallen military personnel on Monday, Memorial Day, 2014.

Susan Campbell Reneau, President of the United Veterans Council, said the first event will be at 10 a.m. at Caras Park. The second will be at 11 a.m. at the Doughboy Statue in front of the Missoula County Courthouse. At noon, a wreath will be placed at the Fort Missoula Military Cemetery. At 12:30 p.m. there will be a ceremony at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery, dedicated to the late Charlie Crookshanks, featuring U.S. Navy veteran Champ Edmunds as guest speaker.

There will be a lunch break at the Sunset Memorial at about 1:15. Then, there will be wreath laying ceremonies at the Missoula City Cemetery, St. Mary's Annex Cemetery, and at the Veterans Memorial at St. Mary's Cemetery starting at about 2:15 p.m.

There will be two services at Rose Memorial Park at the Korean War Memorial and at the Vietnam War Memorial from 3:15 to about 4 p.m.

The final ceremony will be the first-ever at the newly established Afghanistan and Iraq War Memorial on the University of Montana Campus from 5 to 5:30 p.m. featuring keynote speaker U.S. Army Sgt. Sam Redfern.
