Full disclosure. The pay is lousy, but if all the Montana great outdoors has to offer is compensation enough, this could be for you!

The Forest Service is looking for volunteer camp hosts to help manage several campgrounds throughout the Beaverhead Deer Lodge National Forest for the upcoming 2018 camping season. If you enjoy spending time outdoors, camping and meeting new people, the services you provide as a camp host are a big asset to visitors.

Volunteer camp hosts provide information, cleaning amenities and light maintenance. Hosts are needed Memorial Day through Labor Day, although some abbreviated positions are available. The Forest Service is seeking hosts in the Butte, Philipsburg, Big Hole and southern Pioneer Mountain areas. Much more detailed information on which specific campgrounds are in need of volunteers can be found here.

So, if you have the flexibility, look into it as soon as you can. And if you get a host gig, we will all come visit you!
