There's no Western Montana Fair this year but 4H and FFA activities are moving forward, along with regular exhibits, from a distance. To ensure that the public could appreciate what Montana's youth have accomplished in 4H & FFA, the fair board teamed up with a local photographer to capture some truly beautiful photos of entrants and their animals. Not only does this allow for us to see what we can't in person, but it provides these kids with a photo keepsake that they will likely cherish forever.

As previously reported, this year's Fair theme is "Farm To Fair," the 'Pen Portraits' were shot by Tom Aldrich. He, along with fair organizers, traveled Montana this spring to capture the images and stories of as many 4H & FFA members as they could. You can read entrants' stories and see all of the portraits in the Fair's online Pen Portraits gallery. I started to see the pics in my feed a couple of days ago and have really enjoyed seeing the pride on these kids' faces in each shot. A TON of year round work goes into raising these animals, it's awesome that each story is being shared.

You can support the annual 4H & FFA Livestock Sale this Saturday, August 8th at 8 a.m. Pre-registration by the end of Wednesday, August 5th is highly recommended to participate in person or online, learn more here.
