The Best Beards and Mustaches From Western Montana’s Wildest Competition

Friday night was the 2026 Western Montana Beard and Mustache Competition at Highlander Brewing. The event is hosted by my favorite DJ, DJ Briggs. If you haven't seen Briggs before, this guy knows his stuff about beards and mustaches.

So when Briggs anoints someone as having the best mustache and beard, it's a valid superlative.

Here were the categories:

• Best Beard Over 6 Inches
• Best Beard Under 6 Inches
• Best Craft Beard
• Best Creative Freestyle
• Best Mustache

Here were the best (and my favorites) from the night.

I know this guy won for a fact, because that is the Grizzly Scholarship Association Director, Coleson Randall. He has been putting in some serious time growing his mustache out for the last month or so.

Now this is a beard! That is a beard that could double as a full head of hair. I have to know how long that took him to grow it out, because it might take me a decade to come up with half that sized beard.

ZZ Top. Gandalf. This guy.  Those are the best greybeards of all-time. You can't tell me otherwise.
