I’m not a huge baseball fan. In fact, I probably couldn’t name more than two professional baseball teams. (Yankees, Red Sox…ummmm….)

Even though I couldn’t care less about what those guys on ESPN SportsCenter have to say about home runs and fast balls, I have to say, watching America’s favorite pastime live and in person is, quite literally, a whole other ball game.

So, when I found out that the Missoula Osprey baseball season was starting, I was more than a little excited.

Missoula’s beloved minor league baseball team will host its home opener at 7:05 p.m. this Friday.

If you’ve never been to a Missoula Osprey game, take my advice and go. Compared to other forms of entertainment — such as movies and concerts — Osprey games are relatively cheap to attend. General admission tickets are only $8 for adults and $7 for children at the gate, and advance tickets are $1 cheaper.

Let me tell you, there’s nothing better on a warm summer night than a cold beer, a juicy hotdog and some dude in a bird suit running around the field like a crazy person between innings. Add in crowd contests and special promotions, and you’ve got yourself a really fun evening at the ballpark.

For more information or to purchase tickets, stop by the MSO Hub Box Office at 140 N. Higgins, call 543-3300 or visit the online ticket information page.
