At about 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon, an elderly woman mistook the gas pedal for the brake on her minivan, and crashed through the front window of the Orange Street Food Farm. The van took out a display of flowers outside the store, drove over a concrete pillar, crashed through the storefront windows, struck a checkout stand and demolished a large wine display.

I spoke with Lieutenant Richard Stepper with the Missoula Police Department who was the lead investigator at the scene. He has details of the crash below..

The Food Farm’s Alexander Fisher was closest to the accident as the van crashed through the storefront. Hear his description of the accident below..

I spoke with Bobby, the assistant store manager of the Food Farm, as well. Click below to hear his comments..

The driver of the van was embarrassed, but not injured. There was no immediate estimate of damages.

Here are some pictures from the scene.
