Upcoming Southgate Mall Events: Blood Drive and KidX Activity

There's always something happening over at Southgate Mall. The old Lucky's building has had a ton of traffic lately as they've been using it to host mass vaccinations for the community. And the work continues on the new Scheels store that will open soon (sounds like it'll be very soon) to satisfy all your sporting goods needs. But if I might offer up a suggestion.....I was next to the mall at about 9:45 AM yesterday and had the sudden urge to stop at Cinnabon.....so maybe we can start a movement to make that place a 24 hour operation instead of having the same hours as the mall. Nobody should be forced to wait until 11 AM to indulge in such deliciousness.

A couple dates on the mall's calendar include an upcoming American Red Cross blood drive on March 8 and the latest installment of the KidX Activity on March 16.

If you wish to donate blood you can do so by either drop-in or scheduling an appointment. Appointments can be made in advance HERE. The blood drive will be held inside the mall, at the new entrance across from American Eagle. If it's easier for you when you're looking at a map - check it out HERE.

We understand public health concerns, but want to stress that donating blood is a safe process and Red Cross blood drives have the highest safety standards. Here are just a few of our vigilant measures to protect the health of all involved in our blood drives.

- Using Sterile Collection Sets

- Spacing Beds 6 Feet Apart Where Possible

- Having Hand Sanitizer Available

- Using Aseptic Scrubs on Arms

- Donor and Staff Temperature Checks Before Entering Drives

- Wiping Down Donor-Touched Areas
