The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will unveil a new exhibit on Friday, October 21st 2022 dedicated to what often gets overlooked and forgotten in the passage of time: clothing. Titled "Undressing History," the museum will allow visitors to see garments worn by historical figures as well as fashion senses that offer a window into Montana's history.

Although the collection will first be displayed on October 21st we're able to show you some pictures of what will be there, courtesy of Fort Missoula's Development and Communication Director Stacy Carr-Poole. More than 30 items will be featured in the exhibit, but here's a sneak peek of what you can see.

You get extra credit if you know what "Ike style" is without looking it up.

It shouldn't take too long for locals to recognize the jacket on the left, a University of Montana letterman that bears the old school colors of burnt orange and yellow which was discontinued in 1995. The jacket in the middle was worn by a Missoula County Sheriff's deputy in the mid 1970's, and the one on the right was donated by a U.S. Border Patrol agent who was stationed at Fort Missoula during World War 2.
