Missoula County has recently hit the 50% mark for COVID vaccinations in adults - meaning, over half of Missoula now has at least one shot and has either received or is scheduled to receive their second one. We've seen restrictions start to lift - the mask mandate has become a mask recommendation, and events are no longer limited by size capacities anymore. And we've begun putting events back on the calendar, like the endless wave of concerts Logjam has been announcing for Kettlehouse Amphitheater.

It really feels like everything is returning to normal - but, we need to remember how quickly it all went away the first time. And to ensure that we're able to return to doing all these things, people need to keep getting vaccinated. Across the country, President Biden's stated goal is to get at least 70% of adults vaccinated with at least one shot by July 4th. And to help ensure that happens, his administration has enlisted the help of some rideshare apps.

Beginning on May 24th and going through July 4th, Uber and Lyft will begin offering free rides to your closest vaccination site. The idea is to help people out who may have difficulty finding transportation to get there.

So that's one less excuse for why you haven't gotten a vaccine! Making it easier to access any way they can is a smart move - hopefully this actually does help get more people vaccinated and we can hit that 70% for the country. For info about where you can get the vaccine here in Missoula, you can check out the Missoula City-County Health Department's website.
