The Big Sky Conference has named their football players of the week and the Montana Grizzlies are well represented. Safety Matt Hermanson (pictured) is co-defensive player of the week and receiver Ellis Henderson is the special teams player of the week for their outstanding performances at South Dakota on Saturday. Hermanson, a junior from Sioux Falls, S.D., had a team high 11 tackles and returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown in Montana's 31-27 win over the Coyotes. How fitting that he had so many hometown friends and family at the game! And of course Henderson, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., electrified Griz fans everywhere with his 98 yard kickoff return with less than two minutes to go in the game to put the Griz in front for good. Congrats guys, and way to jump up in that weekly poll, too! In the weekly Sporting News Football Championship Subdivision poll, Montana jumped from 10th to 7th, one notch ahead of those Bobcats, who dropped four spots after losing to Eastern Washington Saturday (Eagles move up to #3). See you Saturday at Noon vs. Weber State! DB
