Tom and Jerry Cartoons Make America Violent

Here's one you can add to your list of goofy crap that some other nations try to blame on America. Some people apparently think we're animated cats and mice.

According to Associated Press, a government official in Egypt has gone on record as saying the cartoon show Tom and Jerry spreads a culture of violence. Children who watch the arch-rival cat and mouse smack each other with frying pans and get rolled over with heavy objects until they're flat as paper see this as normal behavior. This is the conclusion of the Egyptian head of state information services, speaking at a forum in Cairo.

Yes, that same Egypt that has Islamic insurgents, violent anti-protest security measures and thousands of political dissidents in jail. I can see where they'd have nothing else to worry about.   DB
