I'm a huge movie geek, so I spend a lot of time hanging out at The Roxy Theater in Missoula, where they play a lot of the smaller films that the AMC theaters just aren't going to play - plus a whole lineup of classic programming and different events, too. It's pretty great.

And it's about to get even greater. The Roxy is taking some time off this summer to go through some major changes - new seats, new sound system, the works. Here's what they said about it in their membership newsletter:

"The Roxy is going through some changes soon. For two weeks in July, the theater will be dark... but we'll be coming back with brand new seats and sound!! Expect more details soon, but for now just know that 1) our new seats will be much more comfortable, 2) our sound system much enhanced, 3) we're planning a party (with outdoor screening, silent auction, film trivia, and bingo) at the Senior Center across Higgins during our renovation, and 4) we've got some spectacular repertory programming for you when we're back up and running mid-July, with titles including Raiders of the Lost ArkTitanicTombstone, and Jaws."

So I can't go to the Roxy for two weeks, but in exchange, it's gonna be even better? Yep, I'm cool with that. In the meantime, you can always see a movie there right now, and get tickets through their website.
