Hellgate Elementary School, an independent school district in Missoula, has been operating as close to normal a schedule as possible since September, despite the immense challenge of COVID 19.

This week, the Missoula County Public School Trustees approved new curriculum for teaching English Language Arts for area elementary schools.

Voters can start filling out their federal primary ballots soon.

"Missoula is in a growth cycle right now and we are seeing that in our schools," said MCPS Superintendent Mark Thane

Just 41.2 percent of Montana elementary and middle school students are proficient in math.

The three participating classes are from Lewis and Clark, Cold Springs, and Russell School.

Montana’s public school districts are doing a better job of identifying homeless students which has improved connecting students with school, community, and local outreach organizations to provide important services.
