Sorority Sisters Busted After Brazen Nativity Scene Theft
In what can be described as a seasonal “crime of fashion,” five female students at Monmouth College in Illinois were arrested after stealing statues of Mary, Joseph, the Baby Jesus and several stable animals from a nativity scene in their town’s square and dumping them on the lawn of their college’s president. It’s a Christmas miracle — that they didn’t get expelled.
Not surprisingly, the plan was hatched after a night of heavy drinking, and the five pranksters — including several members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority – would’ve gotten away with their dastardly deed if someone hadn’t spotted their SUV leaving the scene of the crime. The cops then located said vehicle behind a Taco Bell, and when confronted, the ladies the fessed up to their crime.
The fivesome was booked on charges of misdemeanor theft. (Their mughots above are directly below a photo from better, less inebriated times.) Next time they’ll probably stick to egg nog at the holiday party.
