Remembering Rhonna

Rhonna/Ruby's...hard to think about one without the other. It is strange thinking about going to Ruby's Cafe and knowing Rhonna won't be there. And judging by how many customers I saw at her service today, I bet lots of them are thinking the same thing. 

We do a weekly hunting and fishing radio program at Ruby's every Friday 9 months of the year. Have been for years. That's how I got to know Rhonna Sweeney, who fought the good fight against pancreatic cancer until last Friday. She waitressed there something like 27 years. Amazing memory, pleasant and friendly without being over the top about it, sweet, kind, patient, efficient, thoughtful...you get the idea. Yes, her job was customer service, but you could just tell it was a way of life with her...going out of her way to make others happy. Through the treatments, the pain, the frustrations, she was still Rhonna. 

And I'm honored I got the chance to know her. DB
