My 5 Favorite Summer Songs

There are certain songs that when you hear them that they can take you back in time or take you to a certain place. There’s nothing quite like summer songs to remind you of past good times. Every one of my favorite summer songs I like for a different reason. Some remind me of childhood summers, and others remind me of things that I loved to do in the summer. Did your favorites make my list?

Springsteen – This song is a slice of summer pie. I can’t help but relive my teenage summer nights when I listen to this song. The haunting melody makes this song a bit somber, but it’s still one of my favorites.

Barefoot Blue Jean Night – A party with your friends on a summer night is as good as it gets. This song makes every summer night seem like a party.

Summertime – Another song about young love in the summer, but this one has a lighter feel to it. Nothing says teenage love like “two feet on a dashboard and a Yoo Hoo bottle on the floor board.”

Fishin in the Dark – My husband is an avid fisherman, so this song always reminds of him and when we first were dating. We spent many nights just enjoying the cool summer air fishing in Montana.

Cheap Seats – I grew up playing softball so baseball has a special place in my heart. This song is summertime baseball to a tee. After all, what is more American summer than baseball?
