UPDATE: U of Montana Student Wins Contest To Play At Red Rocks Amphitheater
UPDATED STORY (6/26/24)
Last week I wrote about a University of Montana student vying for a chance to perform live at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. You can read up on the situation below, but I'm happy to report that future Grizzly Reagan Golden won the contest and will be on stage at Red Rocks with bluegrass band Trampled By Turtles.
Congratulations, Reagan. She'll be enjoying her first semester as a Griz this fall, but before that she's got to prep for her performance at Red Rocks. Trampled By Turtles is performing at Red Rocks on July 11. Reagan will get to perform one song with them on stage. The band is paying for all her travel expenses as well.
We love to see it.
If you can't make it to Denver, then check out Trampled By Turtles in Big Sky at the Big Sky Events Arena on July 9.
ORIGINAL STORY (6/20/24)
If you're a live music fan you MUST take in a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. It's a breathtaking venue with a surreal aura. I visited for the first time earlier this year for a Lord Huron concert, and it lived up to the hype.
A Missoula favorite Trampled By Turtles (TBT) is headlining Red Rocks on July 11. TBT has performed in Missoula many times, so I know TBT fans are reading this. TBT is putting a twist on their Red Rocks performance this year. The Minnesota-based group is giving a fan the chance to perform with the band on stage during their concert. Fans submitted videos of themselves playing TBT songs and the band narrowed it down to three finalists.
It's a great promotion, but what makes it even cooler is one of the finalists is a University of Montana student. Contestant C: Reagan Golden.
"i'll be a freshman in the fall! I'm majoring in journalism!" Golden responded to my message.
Originally from Northern Kentucky, the new Griz describes herself as a "taylor swift and folk music enthusiast," in her Instagram bio. The singer/songwriter released her first single in June.

Give her song "follow your river" a listen here.
And while you're at it, let's help a girl out. Vote for Golden in the TBT Instagram post by writing the letter 'C.' We already have a couple of Griz fans making their presence felt in the chat.
Good luck, Reagan.
