Montana’s “Most Popular” Music Festival May Surprise You
Concerts and music festivals are my lifeblood. If you've read any of my articles or heard me on air you know I adore live music. In fact, this summer I am attending 10 concerts or festivals.
- Lord Huron
- Fruit Bats
- needtobreathe
- Charley Crockett
- Under The Big Sky
- Khruangbin
- Yacht Club Festival (St. Paul, Minnesota - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Offspring, others)
- Tyler Childers
- Sturgill Simpson
- Dierks Bentley
It's overkill especially when you consider how much money I'm pouring into these weekends, but hey what can I say... I probably have an addiction.
Montana's home to plenty of great shows and festivals. Under The Big Sky, Red Ants Pants Music Festival and the Wildlands Festival just to name a few, but one stands above the rest according to Privacy Journal. The online protection & VPN gurus looked at "The Most Popular Summer Festivals Worldwide & in the US" in 2024. Burning Man was hands down the most popular across the U.S. in terms of the number of online searches, it was the highest-searched festival in 33 states.

But not Montana. Our "Most Popular" music festival was Headwaters Country Jam. This year's Jam takes place July 25-27 in Three Forks. Awesome artists headline each night of the festival. Bailey Zimmerman rocks Thursday, Jon Pardi owns Friday and Gary Allan closes it out on Saturday. Plus, Aaron Watson, Lonestar, Luke Grimes and others on the main stages during the festival. It's self-identified as "Montana's Biggest Country Festival," and I can see why.
Montana and Idaho are the only states out West where Burning Man isn't the top searched festival. We rock with Headwaters while Idaho searches the Boise Music Festival.
