MT Man Raising Money For George Floyd Family With Coin Auction

Missoula, like so many cities across the country and around the world, has been the site of an ongoing protest against police brutality following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis for over a week now. The protests continue and are a great way to show your support for Black Lives Matter, but there are other ways you can help, too. If you're able, you can make a donation to a number of worthy causes, including Black Lives Matter, and this card does a great job of outlining a ton of petitions to sign and places to donate money to that's worth your time.

One man from Hamilton saw what was going on around the country and decided to use his skills to try and help out the family of George Floyd directly. Ren Patch, the owner of Void to Form, has engraved an old nickel with Floyd's face, as well as the year "2020" and the word, "liberty."

The idea is to sell the nickel in an open auction on eBay and send all proceeds to the George Floyd Memorial Fund, which is supporting the family for legal fees, hotels, food, and whatever else they need during this horrible time in their lives.

As of this writing, the nickel is currently on sale on eBay and going for $71, with about four days left to go in the auction. Will you bid on this item and, in the process, help out the family of George Floyd?
