MPD Arrest Man After Receiving an Hour Long Open-Line Call From a Woman in Need
At around 10:45 Friday night, Missoula police received a call and it appeared to be an open line. According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, they heard a male and female speaking.
“The male that they detected was making threats and accusations,” Welsh said. “The female was complaining that the male was hurting her. It took a little bit over an hour of listening to this line, trying piece together where this was taking place, and who actually was involved, but officers eventually responded to a residence in the 1400 block of West Broadway.”
Officers made contact with the male and female. The male was identified as 50-year-old Timothy Roth.
“The victim was complaining of injury, but she refused medical assistance,” Welsh said. “It appears at this point that she initiated the call at some point so that somebody could hear what was going on and hopefully provide her with assistance. Thankfully, we were able to do that.”
Roth is currently being held for felony intimidation and partner or family member assault.
