So, you're having a conversation with someone and they roll their eyes. Maybe it's because you're using some of these overused words.

Lake Superior State University in Michigan has released their 44th annual "List of Words Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness."

Thanks to all the controversy surrounding President Trump's alleged dealings with Russia, "collusion" is near the top of the list of words that have to go this year. Other big vote-getters include "wheelhouse," "in the books," "wrap my head around," "grapple," "optics," "eschew," "crusty," "thought leader," "platform," "ghosting" and "accoutrements."

Hey, I'm in great shape. I don't use any of those! Well, okay, I might get into my "wheelhouse" every now and then.

Here's to a great year of fresh words in 2019 to one and all. May your platform eschew accoutrements.
