The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are officially underway! The opening ceremonies took place earlier today and a few sports have already been played. Missoula is getting into the Olympic spirit with some trivia tonight at Stave & Hoop, plus all kinds of courses on Olympic events like figure skating and curling at Glacier Ice Rink next week.

And although it seems like many Montanans are looking forward to skeleton the most, I'm betting a lot of them will be watching some skiing, too. Especially since we've got a few athletes from Montana representing the US team!

And this isn't the first rodeo for some of these athletes - a few of them have qualified for past Olympics, and that includes Brad Wilson from Butte, who is now competing in his third Olympic games. But he's saying that after this year, that's going to be it.

Olympic Skier Brad Wilson Plans to Retire After 2022

According to a profile from the Missoulian, Brad Wilson - who competed in the 2014 Sochi games and the 2018 in Pyeongchang - is calling it a day after this year. It sounds like he's just ready to move on, as professional skiing is an all-consuming lifestyle that leaves little time for anything else - plus, as you get older, it gets more dangerous, too.

(Wilson isn't the only Montanan on their third Olympics, by the way - Maggie Voisin of Whitefish is also on the US team this year!)

Will you be watching Brad Wilson's progress as he competes in the Olympics for the final time?
