Unless you count putting together a March Madness bracket or being apart of a Fantasy Football league, gambling, I've never gambled a day in my life. I've got the world's worst poker face, even though I don't even know how to play the game.

But what I do know, is that A LOT of other people do! Heck, it feels like Missoula has a casino on every other street corner. The personal finance website, WalletHub, states that on average, Americans lose over $100 billion through gambling each year.

WalletHub pulled together data using 19 key metrics to determine which states in the country where excessive gambling was most prevalent. The metrics range from "presence of illegal gambling operations to lottery sales per capita to share of adults with gambling disorders."

Here's the list of the Top 10 Most Gambling-Addicted States:

  1. Nevada
  2. South Dakota
  3. Montana
  4. Mississippi
  5. Louisiana
  6. West Virgina
  7. Oregon
  8. New Jersey
  9. Illinois
  10. Oklahoma

Broken down a little more, Montana came in at #5 in the Most Casinos per Capita and #4 in the Most Gaming Machines per Capita categories.
